Olneyville New York System Restaurant
The Olneyville New York System Restaurant opened in Providence in 1946 and today is operated by the fourth generation of the Stevens Family. Known for its’ signature ‘New York System Hot Wieners’, a singularly Rhode Island tradition, the restaurant is open from lunch to late night and has expanded to 2 additional RI locations. The summer of 2010 brought national recognition to this Providence legacy with features on the Food Network's 'The Best Thing I Ever Ate' and ABC's 'The View'.
According to owner Gregory Stevens, who is also the president of the Olneyville Merchants Association, “The City of Providence and its Neighborhood Markets Program has provided the resources to not only help us develop the Merchants Association, but to access many different financial programs to help develop and promote business in our area.”
